Maths & Mindset.
Building brighter futures.
The Challenge
Too many young South Africans are being left behind.
In under-resourced communities, too many young people leave school without the skills, confidence, or mindset needed to thrive.
Together, we can turn this challenge into South Africa’s greatest opportunity.
Our Solution
Starting early, at the primary school level, we support community-based after school Maths Clubs, and provide educator development programmes that build more than just numeracy. We nurture mathematical thinking, growth mindsets, and critical soft skills like communication, perseverance, and teamwork. And we make learning fun!
Maths Clubs
TIMCA Maths Clubs inspire confidence and curiosity through weekly, hands-on activities, helping young learners build strong maths skills and a growth mindset to thrive in life.
Maths Festival
The TIMCA Maths Festival is a vibrant week-long celebration with workshops, activities, and hands-on learning, sparking curiosity, connection, and brighter futures through the joy of maths.
TIMCA Challenge
The TIMCA Challenge is an exciting maths competition uniting schools and communities, inspiring learners to think critically, work collaboratively, and see maths as a gateway to opportunity.
Harrismith Project
In Harrismith, TIMCA and partners run a community incubator—showing what’s possible when targeted interventions empower youth and families, strengthen networks, and open pathways to education and opportunity.
